- Does web-store-buddy work with different browsers?
web-store-buddy is a server side application
and that means that it requires nothing more than
standard functionality from the shopper's browser
|
- Does web-store-buddy remember the details of
returning customers?
Yes. When a shopper returns to place repeat orders
all their address details are remembered
from their previous order.
|
- If a shopper leaves my web site
and then returns, will web-store-buddy remember
the contents of their shopping cart?
Yes. A shopper can move from page to page on your
web site and any items they have placed in their shopping
basket (and any address or order details they have
entered) are stored. This means that you do not have
to keep your shoppers within a restricted ordering
section of your web site. A shopper can even
leave your web site altogether, and when he/she returns
their shopping cart contents will be still there.
However once a visitor to your web site closes down
their browser, their details are not stored (unless
they have actually completed an order).
|
- Does web-store-buddy
use cookies?
In common with just about all online shopping systems
web-store-buddy uses cookies to keep track
of the shopper and maintain the shopper's cart contents.
However the policy of web-store-buddy is to
use only session cookies. This ensures that
web-store-buddy conforms to best practice privacy
standards.
|
- What happens
if a shopper has disabled cookies in their browser?
If a shopper is so paranoid that they disable cookies
altogether in their browser then they will not be
able to place an order. It's unlikely that such a
shopper would be able to buy online at any web site
on the Internet with cookies disabled! However in
the unlikely event that a shopper is browsing with
this setting, web-store-buddy warns the shopper
and gives them a chance to change their browser settings
